Giving snack or food to child other than yours is prohibited. You will be fined for doing so. Any treats that you bring at pickup time can only be given to your child after you leave school.
When you come in the morning, please help your child hang the coat, place the lunch box on the shelf in the dining room, take your child to the bathroom if needed, and take your child to the classroom and leave. If you need to talk to the teachers for extended amount of time (1 minute or more) please see the school director to make an appointment.
Take your suggestion, concerns about our school, curriculum, or teaching methods in writing to the school director. Do not tell our teachers how you would otherwise teach, how much or what type of homework is appropriate, etc.. You may observe the class via the window but do not stay in the classroom when the class is in session. If you believe you can do a better job, please try home schooling.
12. Please let our teachers handle your crying child when you come in. All you need to do is drop off and leave. The longer you stay, the harder they cry and it affects all other children. If you need to discipline your child for any reason, please do so at home and not in the school, especially not in front of other children, teachers or school officials.
We expect your child arrive at the school no later than 10:30 am, fully awake, already had breakfast and ready for school. Do not bring breakfast to school and expect or ask the teacher to help your child eating breakfast. You will be asked to take your child home if your child is still asleep when arriving at the school or arrive later than 10:30 am.
When your child is sick, please let them stay home and do not bring them to the school. Our school policy prohibits teachers from dispensing any medication for your child. You will be immediately contacted to take your child home if your child is found to be sick. You will be fined if you take sick child to school and we couldn’t contact you by phone using the phone numbers that you gave us or you failed to return the phone message within one hour
We always assume that your child arrive at school in good health condition. If after dropping off you kid, you call to request special attention due to your child’s health or medical related concern regardless whether or not your child has exhibited any symptom, you will be asked to take your child home immediately as we will not honor your request.
You must send a note to your child‘s teacher if your child is going home with someone else. If you have any changes in the normal carpool procedure, please notify the school in writing. If you make arrangements with another parent to pick your child up, please make sure that the arrangement is confirmed. (Please read POLICY ON THE RELEASE OF CHILDREN provided below).
Children should bring school bags each day with your child’s name clearly labeled on the back pack and lunch box. Please check the school bag every day and please empty every day your child’s classroom bin which contain their daily classroom works.
Students may be suspended or expelled if they do not follow order, create nuisance, become disruptive or act violently. Students may also be expelled if the parents are over demanding, unreasonable, rude and difficult to deal with. (Please read the EXPULSION POLICY provided below).
If you bring your own lunch, your lunch must be fully cooked. We do not heat your lunch. Please do not bring uncooked lunch, as we will not cook these items.
In case of inclement weather, every attempt will be made to post announcements on our web site. In case of a delayed opening, we will be open one hour later than your scheduled class time. If there is any unforeseen situation that forces us to be close, you will be called.
Your participation of the school activities, such as school parties, annual meeting, concerts, fund raising dinner, spring cleanup, and Chinese cultural events such as Chinese New Years, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. is not only encouraged but is also expected.
For Pre-Kindergarten students, please bring in a 24”x48” sheet, blanket and a small pillow for nap time.
Bringing toys to school is prohibited. Any unapproved items brought to school will be confiscated immediately. If you need to bring anything other than what is described in here, you must first obtain permission from the teacher or the school official.
Please be nice, be kind, be considerate and be reasonable. Treat others the way you like to be treated. Our students do play together. There will be physical contact when they play and minor scratches do sometimes occur. If this bothers you, please take your child elsewhere.
The Community Center and School reserves the right to use all pictures for publicity purposes. By enrolling your child in the Elite Preparatory Academy, you agree to indemnify the Center and the School, its trustees, directors, officers, teachers, teacher’s assistants, staff, agents, employees, volunteers and service personnel and hold each of them harmless from and against any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, obligations or losses which you may suffer as a result of any act of omission of the Center or the School. You hereby agree to cover the expense for repairs or replacement of all equipment, furniture or premises which are damaged by your child and you agree to abide by the school’s rules and policy.
The Elite Preparatory Academy is operated for the benefits of the members of the NJ Chinese Community Center which subsidizes most of the operating cost. As a beneficiary, you agree to be barred by the NJ Charity Immunity Act to bring lawsuit against the school and the Center.
